Flash Flood Warning issued September 11 at 5:29PM EDT until September 11 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA
At 529 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Flash flooding is occurring near the interchange of I-20 and Villa Rica Hwy. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Douglasville, Buchanan, Villa Rica, Bremen, Temple, Tallapoosa, Mount Zion, Waco, Lithia Springs, Draketown, Bowdon Junction, Lake Val-Do-Mar, New Georgia, Winston and Brownsville.
