At 846 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding caused by heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. 911 Dispatch reported that several secondary roads were closed in Louisa County due to water over the roads. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Aledo, Wapello, Columbus Junction, Burgess, Viola, Morning Sun, New Windsor, Millersburg, Matherville, New Boston, Sherrard, Keithsburg, Grandview, Reynolds, Eliza, Joy, Columbus City, Letts, Little York and Seaton. This includes the following State Parks... Big River State Forest.
