At 509 AM CDT, The storms which produced 2 to 4 inches of rain across the warned area have pushed south of the region and weakened. No significant rainfall is expected in the short-term. However, runoff from the earlier heavy rainfall will continue to produce flooding across flood-prone areas during the next couple of hours. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kansas City, Leavenworth, Gladstone, Lansing, Mission, Smithville, Bonner Springs, Parkville, Tonganoxie, Platte City, Basehor, Edwardsville and North Kansas City.
