Hydrologic Outlook issued September 5 at 10:40AM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT

ESFTFX Periods of rain are expected to begin on Sunday along the Rocky Mountain Front and then spread eastward out over the plains of North Central MT by Sunday night. Overall, total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be common over North Central MT from Sunday through Monday, including the east side of Glacier Park. There is a 10 percent chance of isolated rainfall amounts up to 4 inches. At this time no significant flooding is expected. However, in areas that do receive closer to 3 inches or more of rainfall, some minor field or small stream flooding can not be ruled out. Additionally, some rocks could wash down on to roadways near mountains. Those planning outdoor activities over the next few days should be prepared for periods of rain.
