At 806 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 5 miles southwest of Ute Lake State Park to 9 miles southeast of Newkirk, moving south southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Surface observing system reported. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Tucumcari, Quay, Logan, Ragland, Montoya, Ute Lake State Park and Forrest. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 305 and 352. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 89 and 105.
