At 1028 PM EDT, radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported a water rescue near Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Boone... West Jefferson... Blowing Rock... Deep Gap... Todd... Foscoe... Wilbar... This includes the following streams and drainages... Elk Creek, Left Prong Stony Fork, Beaver Creek, Brushy Fork, Dutch Creek, Fall Creek, Laurel Fork, Grassy Creek, Craborchard Creek, Dugger Creek, Little Dugger Creek, Flat Branch, Clear Branch and Call Creek.
