At 849 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Quinn, or 22 miles west of Philip, moving southeast at 30 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR WASTA, WALL, QUINN, COTTONWOOD. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and golf ball size hail. SOURCE...Automated observations. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Philip, Wall, Interior, Wasta, Quinn, Grindstone, Cactus Flat, Cedar Pass, Creighton, Cottonwood, Delta 1 Launch Facility, Delta 9 Missile Silo, Minuteman Missile Visitors Center, Pinnacles Ranger Station, Grindstone Butte and northeastern Badlands National Park. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 94 and 146.
