FFWSLC The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... The Cottonwood burn scar in... East Central Beaver County in southern Utah... * Until 600 PM MDT. * At 317 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Cottonwood Burn Scar in Beaver county. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. A flash flood wave has reached camera number one in Beaver Canyon and the storm has currently moved into the south fork of the Beaver River with additional rainfall. Flows are expected to increase over the next hour at the Beaver River camera one area. This flood wave will continue to move down canyon along the Beaver River and is expected to reach the Grove area within the next one to two hours. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
