* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Carroll County in southwestern Virginia... Southeastern Grayson County in southwestern Virginia... The City of Galax in southwestern Virginia... * WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 800 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dixon Branch, Little River, Chestnut Creek, Little Pauls Creek, Elk Creek, Beaver Creek, Garners Creek, Glady Fork, Crooked Creek, East Fork Crooked Creek, Fisher River, Little Fisher River and Hanks Branch. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Galax, Fancy Gap
