* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County... * WHEN...Until 1115 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 815 AM HST, radar and rain gauges continued to indicate steady moderate showers falling at rates of 0.5 to 1.5 inch per hour over windward Big Island. Some rain bands could have locally higher rates, especially in the Kau and Puna Districts. Water levels in area streams are slowly rising. The showers are expected to increase in intensity as the morning progresses. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Kapaau, Honokaa, Volcano, Glenwood, Mountain View, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Wood Valley, Hawaiian Acres and Keaau.
