Western Otero County in south central New Mexico... * Until 630 PM MDT. * At 540 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles south of White Sands National Park, moving southwest at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. In addition the strong winds will create areas of blowing dust which could reduce visibilities for motorists along US70 west of Holloman AFB. * This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of western Otero County. This includes Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 179 and 189.
