What Floods at Each Level

Major Flood Stage. Major flooding occurs along the greenway at Park and Spruce Streets. Houses in the vicinity of the greenway are completely inundated by flood waters. Major flooding of the mobile home park along the south end of McCue Street along the left river bank. Water flows through the Lee Trailer Court located just north of Curtis Street. Warehouses along Cedar Street will flood. Low lying flooding of houses occurs in Cottonwood Estates.

Moderate Flood Stage. Water easily overflows the greenway at Spruce and Park Streets. Homes next to the greenway along the right river bank experience extensive flooding. Water begins to encroach upon the mobile home park along the south end of McCue Street along the left river bank. Water enters behind mobile homes within the Lee Trailer Court located just north of Curtis Street. Optimist Park south of Garfield Street begins to flood.

Flood stage. Access to the Chimney Lamp Road bridge may become impossible. Water begins encroaching the greenway at the intersection of Park and Spruce Streets. Houses next to the greenway along the right river bank may have water over low lying areas.

Bankfull stage. Water overflows low lying portions of the bike path along southwestern portions of Laramie (south of Optimist Park and Garfield Street). There is standing water over low lying areas on Chimney Lamp Road north of the bridge. One to two feet of standing water may cover low lying areas of the bike path near the wetlands area.

7.5 ft

River begins to encroach and flow into the wetlands area along the right river bank. Some very minor flooding of low spots occurs along the bike path near the wetlands.
