Peak stage reached during flood of October 11 2000. Extensive flooding in Wenden and surrounding areas. Numerous homes and structures flooded, roads closed, and evacuations took place during this historic flood event. Water estimated to be close to 8 feet deep near Pioneer Community Park on south side of town. Water approaching bottom of US 60 Highway Bridge.

Major Flood Stage. Flooding of Wenden. Extensive channel breakouts. Structures flooded on both north and south side of town. Water several feet deep near Pioneer Community Park on south side of town.
Moderate Flood Stage. North side of Wenden flooded. McMullen Valley Fire District Station isolated by water. South side of town needs to be monitored closely for flood waters to overtop or compromise county-built berm. Structures flooded.
Minor Flood Stage. Water breaks out of channel and begins to inundate low lying areas and roads of Wenden. Bankfull conditions reached along portions of wash.
Action Stage. At this river stage there is the potential for channel breakouts to begin along Centennial Wash near Wenden. Water several feet deep at Centennial Park Road low water drip crossing.
Alarm Stage. Centennial Park Road low water dip crossing closed.
