What Floods at Each Level

Record flooding never seen before will affect portions of Brownsville Road...Sweetwater Avenue and Powder Springs-Dallas Road. A catastropic and massive flood will top the bridge and impact numerous homes and infrastructure on the westside of Powder Springs. The water will be 5 feet deep in the Seven Springs Museum and some other nearby buildings. The concrete foot bridge and portions of the railroad tracks by the park will be flooded with up to 3 feet of water.

Record widespread inundation flooding affects portions of Brownsville Road...Sweetwater Avenue and Powder Springs-Dallas Road. The water level is close to topping the bridge. All of Powder Springs Park will be completely flooded. The water will be 3 feet deep in the Seven Springs Museum and some other nearby buildings. The concrete foot bridge and portions of the railroad tracks by the park will be flooded with water around one foot deep. This flooding will be similar to the September 2009 flood event.

Major flooding begins. Widespread inundation flooding occurs on portions of Brownsville Road....Sweetwater Avenue and Powder Springs-Dallas Road. The water will continue to hit the bridge causing erosion to the sides. All of Powder Springs Park will be flooded up to 10 feet deep. The water level will be two feet deep in the Seven Springs Museum and some other nearby buildings. The concrete foot bridge by the park will be flooded. The railroad tracks behind the museum will begin to flood.

17 ft

Significant flooding expands further into the woodlands and fields from the gage at Brownsville Road. The water level hits the bridge and county officials will likely close it. Portions of the road by Sweetwater Avenue will be flooded. All of Powder Springs Park will be flooded up to 8 feet deep. The water level will reach the flooring of the Seven Springs Museum and begin to flood some other nearby buildings. The concrete foot bridge by the park will begin to flood.

16 ft

Significant flooding expands further into the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage at Brownsville Road. The water level begins to hit the bridge and county officials may close it. Portions of the road by Sweetwater Avenue will begin to flood. Flood waters cover all of the Powder Springs Park and athletic fields. The pavilion...swimming pool and crawl space of the Seven Springs Museum will be flooded with 3 feet of water. Portions of the parking lot will be under 7 feet of water.

Moderate flooding begins. Significant flooding continues in the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage at Brownsville Road. The water level reaches the bottom of the bridge and county officials may close it. Flood waters expand over all of the Powder Springs Park and athletic fields. The pavilion and swimming pool will be under two feet of water. The crawl space of the Seven Springs Museum will be flooded. Portions of the parking lot will be under 6 feet of water.

Minor flooding will continue in the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage at Brownsville Road. Flood waters expand over most of the Powder Springs Park and athletic fields. The pavilion and swimming pool will begin to flood. Portions of the parking lot will be under 4 feet of water. The water will reach the foundation of the Seven Springs Museum.

Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding will occur in the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage at Brownsville Road. Large portions of the Powder Springs Park and athletic fields will be flooded. The water will be up to two feet deep in the parking lot.

Bankfull conditions are reached along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at Brownsville Road. Low lying areas of the Powder Springs Park including the parking lot begin to flood.
