Widespread and significant inundation throughout Newport. Flooding comparable to Hurricane Florence (2018). Access to portions of Newport may be cut off with water inundating parts of Highway 70 making it impassable.
Widespread and significant flooding throughout Newport, primarily between Nine Mile Road and the Mill Creek area. Portions of Highway 70 and Chatham Street in Newport (between Howard Blvd and Roberts Road) will be inundated and impassable. Many secondary roads will be impassable, including portions of Nine Foot Road and Roberts Road.
Numerous homes and businesses will see flooding throughout Newport. Many roads will be inundated with water and may be impassable, especially in and around downtown Newport, including portions of Chatham Street near the river.
Minor flooding in Newport, flooding docks and yards adjacent to the Newport River and other tributaries. Minor inundation on Gray Road, Hilltop Road, Westfield Road and Kirby Lane. Low lying areas in downtown Newport, near Newport River Park will see minor inundation, including a small portion of Chatham Street.
