However, the gage is 0.4 mile downstream from the confluence of the Little Pigeon River and the West Prong Little Pigeon River, which are normally of fairly comparable flows. Certain events may substantially impact one of these streams but not the other, or both equally, thus impacts upstream from their confluence cannot be standardized according to this gage.
