• 36 ft

  The Aransas River escapes its channel into the right flood plain, and floods several hundred yards for each foot of rise. This causes massive lowland flooding of crop and pasture land. Hundreds of livestock are cut off and potentially drowned. The rating flattens very much as the flow goes into the prevailing, very flat flood plain.

• 34 ft

  The intersection 150 yards north of the bridge is threatened. The Aransas River escapes its channel into the right flood plain, causing massive lowland flooding of crop and pasture land. Hundreds of livestock are cut off and may drown.

  The flow moves well onto the Corigan Road Bridge. Massive lowland flooding of crop and pasture land causes significant damages. Irrigation pumps and farm equipment flood from the headwaters in Poesta and Aransas Creeks to Copano Bay. Cattle are threatened and could drown.

  Flow approaches the lower sides of the bridge on Corigan Road. Cattle, irrigation pumps and farm equipment flood from the headwaters in Poesta and Aransas Creeks to Copano Bay. Major lowland flooding of crop and pasture land causes significant damages.

  Major flooding occurs. Secondary roads, low bridges, and crossings are very dangerous to travel. Livestock in the flood plain are cut off and may drown. The lowest homes are also threatened.

• 20 ft

  Major lowland flooding occurs. Crops are damaged and pastureland is flooded in the Poesta and Aransas Creek flood plains upstream.

• 14 ft

  Moderate flooding occurs. Some roads are closed. Crops and pastureland are threatened.

• 13 ft

  Minor lowland flooding occurs which will could impact a few residences. Crops and pasture lands are threatened.

• 12.5 ft

  Some lowland areas and roads experience minor flooding.

• 9 ft

  Overbank conditions occur into low areas of flood plain.

• 7 ft

  The river reaches bankfull stage.
