What Floods at Each Level

Most homes and businesses on Tangier Island are surrounded by or infiltrated by water. All roadways are flooded with limited access. At Port Isobel, water enters the buildings at the Environmental Education Center.

3.75 ft

Main Ridge Road and Post Office Road on Tangier Island begin to flood. Most homes on West Ridge Road are surrounded by water. In addition, the Tangier Fire Department and homes on Main Ridge Road south of Canton Road are surrounded by water. At Port Isobel, water begins to surround the Port Isobel Environmental Education Center buildings and the boat docks are flooded.

The boat docks and canoe launch area at the Port Isobel Environmental Education Center are flooded. On Tangier Island, most of West Ridge Road, the ball field on School Lane, Main Ridge Road from the County Dock to Long Bridge Road, and from Parker Lane to Factory Road, are flooded.

Low-lying portions of West Ridge Road, both corners of Factory Road, and the middle portion of Wallace Road are flooded. The low-lying portions of School Lane, near the bridge, and Parks Marina Lane to the County Dock on Tangier Island, are flooded. Beach access on Hog Ridge Road is limited due to standing water at Janders Bridge.
