What floods at each level

• 6 ft

  Widespread and significant flooding throughout soundside Duck, Southern Shores and Kitty Hawk (north of Wright Memorial Bridge), with businesses and homes flooded. Portions of Highway 12 from Duck to Kitty Hawk will be inundated and impassable, as well as portions of US 158 (Croatan Highway) in Kitty Hawk, from Wright Memorial Bridge to Duck Woods Drive. Many secondary roads, in soundside communities, will be impassable with several feet of inundation.

  Numerous residences and businesses will see flooding throughout soundside Duck, Southern Shores and Kitty Hawk (north of Wright Memorial Bridge). Many secondary roads adjacent to the sounds will be inundated with water and may be impassable, including portions of Highway 12 in Duck.

• 2.5 ft

  Minor flooding in soundside Duck, Southern Shores, and Kitty Hawk flooding docks and yards along the Currituck, Albemarle Sounds and adjacent tidal creeks.

• 1.5 ft

  Very low lying areas in soundside Duck, Southern Shores, and Kitty Hawk along the Currituck, Albemarle Sounds and other adjacent tidal creeks will see minor flooding.
